Course Info

Two Years ago we introduced our new Course.

Our goal was to keep the start and finish intact, and not to cross or run on any major highway. We have accomplished these goals.

The Course still starts in Gilsum and finish on Appian Way at Keene State College. The new course is contained on the Keene side of Routes 9 and 101. Included will be a run East Surry road, by the Bretwood golf course, up Summit road and Summit Ridge, and through West Keene. From West Keene, Runners proceed through Wheelock park and the bike path to East Keene. Elm Street, High Street, Washington Street, George Street, North Lincoln, South Lincoln, Eastern Ave, Marlborough St, Optical Ave and then the remainder of the "old" course to Appian way.

Course Description

	Starts in Gilsum, NH; proceeds on beautiful country roads through Surry, West Keene, and Keene.
	Finishes at Keene State College on Main Street in Keene, NH
	Fairly flat, fast, scenic point to point course which travels through towns of Gilsum, Surry, and Keene.
	Race sanctioned and certified by USA Track & Field - #NH06004RF
	Qualifier for Boston Marathon and Olympic time trial qualifier.
	Registration is at the Spaulding Gym on Sunday morning, we provide busses to the start of the race. There is ample parking in the lots at Keene State College.

DETAILED MARATHON COURSE DESCRIPTION

Start in downtown Gilsum, NH, on Main street just North of the Store.

	Proceed to Route 10. Turn right(south) to Surry road, taking a right turn over the Stone Arch Bridge
	Proceed west towards Surry until reaching the intersection of Surry Road and Route 12A. Take a left hand turn at this intersection.
	Continue South on 12A to the Surry Dam Road.
	Turn Left (a hairpin turn) onto the Surry Dam Road.
	Continue on Surry Dam Road to the East Surry Road.
	Turn right onto the East Surry Road. Proceed on this Road to Court Street in Keene.
	Turn right onto Court Street at the small road just past the small cemetery.
	Continue on Court Street to the Maple Ave intersection.
	Bear Left onto Maple Ave.
	Continue on Maple Ave past our sponsor, Peerless Insurance. At the fork bear right.
	At the end of Maple Ave, turn right onto Summit Road.
	Continue on Summit road to the intersection with Summit Ridge Road, turn left onto Summit Ridge Road.
	Continue on Summit Ridge Road Turn Left onto Skyline Drive.
	Continue on Skyline drive, turn left onto Stonehouse lane.
	At the end of Stonehouse Lane, Turn right onto Hastings Ave.
	At the end of Hastings Ave, turn right onto Hurricane road.
	Proceed on Hurricane Road until the Felt Road intersection. Turn left onto Felt Road.
	Follow Felt Road until the Blackberry Road intersection. Turn left onto Blackberry Road.
	Follow Blackberry to the Arch Street intersection. Turn Left onto Arch Street.
	Proceed to Bradford Road. Turn Right onto Bradford Rd.
	Follow Bradford Rd to the Greenbriar Road intersection. Turn Left onto Greenbriar Road.
	Follow Greenbriar to Ridgewood Ave, turn right onto Ridgewood Ave.
	Proceed on Ridgewood to the intersection with Blossom Street. Turn left onto Blossom Street.
	Proceed on Blossom to Arch Street, turn right onto Arch Street.
	Continue on Arch Street to Park Ave. At the intersection of Arch and Park Ave turn left onto Park Ave.
	From Park Ave enter Wheelock Park. Follow the main Road in Wheelock park to the end.
	At the end of the road in Wheelock Park proceed onto the Pedestrian Path(paved).
	Continue on the Pedestrian Path to Court Street.
	At the End of the Pedestrian Path turn left onto Court St.
	Follow Court St to the Elm St intersection.
	At the Elm St Intersection turn right onto Elm Street
	Follow Elm Street to High Street.
	Turn Left onto High Street.
	Follow High Street to the intersection with Washington Street.
	Turn Left onto Washington Street. Stay on Washington Street to George Street.
	Turn right onto George Street.
	Follow George Street to North Lincoln Street.
	Turn Right onto North Lincoln.
	Follow North Lincoln to Water Street. North Lincoln becomes South Lincoln at the Roxbury Street. intersection. Continue straight onto South Lincoln.
	Follow South Lincoln to the Water Street intersection.
	Turn Left onto Water Street.
	Continue on Water Street to the intersection with Eastern Avenue.
	Turn Right onto Eastern Ave.
	Follow Eastern Ave to the end.
	Turn Left onto Marlborough Street.
	Follow Marlborough Street to Optical Ave.
	Turn right onto Optical Ave.
	Continue on Optical Ave. Optical Ave will appear to come to a "T" bear right onto the continuation of Optical Ave.
	At end of Optical Ave, take left onto Marlboro Street.
	From Marlboro Street there will be a left hand turn onto Baker Street.
	Follow Baker Street until the end which intersects with Main Street in Keene.
	Cross Main street and then turn right(North). You're still on main street at this point just running on the other side.. the end is near.
	Follow Main street to Appian Way at Keene State College. Turn Left onto Appian Way to the finish line which is in front of the Keene State College Library
